1841 The business was founded as J York & Son - carriage and coach builders

1912 Company registered as York Ward Ltd, combining the separate businesses of York & Son coach builders and Ward Motor Makers

1920 Name changed to recognise the substantial interest of the Rowlatt family

1958 Sister company, Croyland Motors formed as agents for Vauxhall cars and Bedford trucks

1987 Acquired by Grosvenor Contracts Leasing Ltd, the largest independent contract hire company in the UK - relocated to current location in St John's Street

1998 Masterfit Centre opened at Broad Green Wellingborough

2008 Broad Green showroom opened
