Our Favourite Cars of ALL time…What’s Yours?

Cars that feature in movies or TV series’ are often as iconic as the stars that appear in them and sometimes even take the staring roll (think ‘Herbie’ the Volkswagen Beetle or Trotter’s Independent Reliant).

So here at York Ward and Rowlatt, we thought it would be fun to round up our Top 10 cars of all time to share with you – and this was no easy feat!

Throughout the 60s, 70s and 80s especially, cars played a big part in many TV series and films, but perhaps arguably the most famous and iconic car of all time is James Bond’s 1964 Aston Martin DB5, as seen in the classic Goldfinger.

With so many fantastic and classic cars to choose from, we had a hard time narrowing our selection down to just 10. In the end we agreed that to make our Top selection a vehicle must have influenced a generation, inspired car culture and become the stuff of our childhood dreams. So these are our favorites, in no particular order:

  • James Bond, Goldfinger 1964 Aston Martin DB5
  • Back to the Future 1982 DeLorean DMC-12 Delorean
  • Herbie, ‘The Love Bug’ 1962 Volkswagon Beetle
  • Starsky and Hutch 1975 Ford Gran Torino
  • Chitty Chitty Bang Bang 1910 (based on an old grand prix racer)
  • Batman Bat Mobile 1955 Ford Lincoln Futura Concept Car
  • Magnum P.I 1977 Ferrari 308 GTS
  • Knight Rider 1982 Customised Pontiac Trans Am
  • Dukes of Hazard ‘General Lee’ 1969 Dodge Charger
  • Only Fools and Horses Reliant Regal 700cc Supervan

Vauxhall may not have the accolade of appearing on this fantastic list of vehicles, but here at York, Ward and Rowlatt we have a wide range of both used and new Vauxhalls to chose from, which would suit a student looking for their first car, to the perfect family saloon. Why not drop into our showroom and see for yourself?
